We have a number of broad-based initiatives and programs that recognize the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our people related to gender, visible minorities, disability, cultural, and sexual orientation (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender). Creating an understanding, accepting and supportive workplace is not just about developing programs and initiatives, but walking the talk every day with each other.
In addition to a dedicated resource for our gender diversity initiatives, we welcomed two dedicated resources in 2009 who support the firm’s diversity programs, and promote opportunities relating to diversity and inclusion at PwC. In addition, we have a new section on our staff intranet, which includes information, programs and resources relating to diversity and inclusion.
